What are Medication-related problems?

Medication-related problems (MRPs) are situations where the medications you take are not working as they should or are causing some kind of issue. This can happen if the medication is not producing the expected effect, if you're experiencing unwanted side effects, if there are interactions between different medications you're taking, or if you're not taking the medication correctly. In simple terms, an MRP is any issue that arises from the use of medications, and it's important to identify them so you can receive the safest and most effective treatment possible.

Report your situation

Health professionals, consumers, and patients can voluntarily report observed or suspected adverse events related to medical products to the FDA. These reports help identify unknown risks and improve the safety of approved medical products.

To report adverse events: You can do so through the FDA's online portal or by sending the appropriate forms: Form 3500 (Health Professionals) or Form 3500B (Consumers/Patients) to the MedWatch program.
